Bubbly Drinks, Winter Cheese Plates, and A Holiday Happy Hour Playdate
One of my favorite things during the holidays is having some mommies and kiddies over for a holiday playdate. Last year we made gingerbread boys and listened to Christmas songs. We had so much fun that last Friday afternoon we had a couple of mommies and kids over to celebrate the season again.
Sparkling water spritzers for the kids. B said, “This is my favorite drink EVER!” Grown-ups can trade the sparkling water for sparkling wine.
Salt dough ornament making for the kids. Just as fun as making cut-out cookies, without the sugar rush. Visit Delighted Momma for a good salt dough ornament recipe.
Winter cheese plate ideas: nuts and a nut cracker, a few different cheeses (Washi tape + toothpicks = fun cheese markers!), crackers or sliced baguette, honey, apple, pears, grapes or pomegranate seeds.
I also made a cinnamon sugar popcorn that was requested by my 5-year-old. Shall I share that recipe soon?
Apple Pomegranate Sparklers

2 cups pomegranate juice
seeds from 1 pomegranate
1 large apple, julienned or chopped
1/4 cup fresh mint, torn, plus more for garnish
crushed ice
Stir first 5 ingredients together and serve over ice. Garnish with mint.

Holy wow! You never cease to amaze me. Can I cone over for like 3 hours without my children please?
Oh my goodnesss.. what a festive treat! I think I know what we'll be having for Christmas toasts!
Marina,
Such a pretty drink. I love pomegranate anything and the seeds dress up so much this time of year.
Happy Holidays to you and yours.
Karen
What a pretty and festive drink! I put pomegranate seeds in everything this time of year!
It sounds like it was a great day for both moms and kids…wish I was there 🙂 That drink looks so good and refreshing. Hope you're having a good week. xo
I love that wooden cheeseboard, and Prosecco all the way for me!!
Great pictures and beautiful cheeseboard! I made a similar simple sparkler last week for my skinny appetizer segment. Love pomegranante and sparkling anything!
I'm instantly thirsty!!! What a gorgeous refreshing drink.
What a wonderful idea. The drink and cheese board just make my mouth water. I love sharing the kitchen with children – it teaches them so much and I am imagining that years from now when they have their own homes that they will want to do the same and create those fabulous memories for someone else. You are wonderful!
I must try this! My son has turned into a pomegranate fanatic:) My in-laws have a pomegranate tree in their backyard…time to take a trip to see them in Santa Monica:) Delicious food and cute images of your girls!
