Welcome! Yes, You! We are so glad you’re here.
The Beginning
Yummy Mummy Kitchen was born shortly after our first daughter was born, in 2007. It started as a way to share recipes with a close group of girlfriends, also new mamas. We thought the name was cute, as new moms learning to make yummy food. It was also homage to my British roots. In my first cookbook, The Yummy Mummy Kitchen, you can read all about what being a “yummy mummy” means to me and how the women in my life influenced that.
Plant-Forward Recipes
Today, a decade later, this website has evolved far beyond “mommy blog.” We primarily focus on simple, plant-based recipes made with whole food ingredients. We welcome all eaters. While I myself am vegetarian, and the recipes here are primarily plant based, we have a diverse group of readers and don’t push any one diet. This is a judgement-free zone.

Travel
Much of my cooking has been inspired by travel, and you’ll find some travel articles on this site. My first formal cooking classes were while living in Florence, Italy in college. My family has spent quite a bit of time there since then, and I’ve enjoyed sharing classic recipes such as: Pizza Dough, Authentic Pizza Sauce, and Bruschetta.
Cookbooks & Beyond
We have two traditionally published cookbooks available. I’ve also taught cooking classes at the Santa Barbara Public Market and for private groups as a way to give back to charities I love.
