Tempeh  Tacos

Tempeh tacos are an easy plant based dinner that’s hearty and delicious.  These protein rich vegetarian/vegan tacos are so easy that after you make them once you won’t even need a recipe.

INGREDIENTS

•  Olive or avocado oil •  Yellow onion •  Tempeh •  Taco seasoning •  Water or vegetable broth •  Sea salt •  Warmed tortillas •  Shredded romaine lettuce •  Salsa

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the onion and saute until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the tempeh, 1 tablespoon of taco seasoning, and water.

The water helps the tempeh to absorb the flavors. Saute until the water has cooked off. Add more taco seasoning and salt to taste.

Serve the warm tempeh taco filling with tortillas, beans, lettuce, salsa, guacamole, and any other favorite taco toppings!
