Is Agua de Fresa the Same Thing as Strawberry Agua Fresca?
Yes, “agua de fresa” is essentially the same thing as “strawberry agua fresca.” “Agua de fresa” is the Spanish translation for strawberry water, and “agua fresca” translates to fresh water. Agua fresca is a popular beverage in Mexican cuisine, made by blending fruits with water and sweetening the mixture to create a refreshing drink.
Agua de Fresa Ingredients
- Water: The base of this hydrating drink is water “agua.”
- Strawberries: Opt for organic strawberries for the best flavor and freshness.
- Sweetener: Choose from sugar, sugar substitutes like stevia, or natural sweeteners such as honey, agave, or maple syrup. The choice of sweetener does affect the overall taste of the Agua de Fresa. If you don’t want a honey or maple flavor, we recommend using agave, which is common in Mexican recipes, or sugar/sugar substitute. For sugar substitutes, we recommend organic liquid stevia to taste or Swerve.
How to Make Agua Fresca
