Suja has a couple of healthy, spicy juice drinks I really love. They are low in sugar, and in beneficial ingredients like lemon, ginger, and apple cider vinegar.
I picked up a bottle at Trader Joe’s recently while feeling a bit run down. One of the Trader Joe’s employees mentioned that it was a great product, so I was excited to try it. The combination of lemon, ginger, apple cider vinegar, cayenne, and maple syrup is zingy, bright, sweet, and spicy.
If you don’t regularly make apple cider vinegar drinks, I recommend starting with this simple Lemon ACV Drink (it has nearly 300 5-star reviews!). We have many other wellness drinks on the site, including Ginger Shots, Turmeric Shots, Cucumber Water, Detox Water Recipes, and Healthy Juicing Recipes.
Apple Cider Vinegar for Gut Health, Cleanse, and Weight Loss
We talked at length about the health benefits of apple cider vinegar in this post. Be sure to use raw, organic apple cider vinegar with the mother, such as Bragg’s. The mother is loaded with prebiotics, minerals, beneficial bacteria, and cleansing enzymes that support gut health. Its antimicrobial properties may help with candida.
Studies have shown ACV may help with weight loss. Bragg’s recommends consuming at least 30ml (2 servings) per day for weight loss or healthy weight maintenance. It’s important to note that apple cider vinegar should never be consumed alone and must be diluted. This is discussed in our Apple Cider Vinegar Shot post.
Other Health Benefits
Most of us know that hydration is very important to staying healthy, and the best way to stay hydrated is with pure water. However, there are a few additions that can add vitamins, minerals, and flavor.
- Lemon juice adds vitamin C, is detoxifying, and energizing.
- Ginger juice has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, supports immune function, and eases nausea and indigestion.
- Cayenne pepper has been found to boost metabolism and satiety in numerous studies such as this one.
How to Make a Lemon Ginger Apple Cider Vinegar Cleanse Drink
Step 1: Start with filtered water
Step 2: Add your ginger juice (be sure to ready how to juice ginger first), ACV, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup. For a sugar-free option, use organic liquid stevia.
Step 3: Shake or whish and refrigerate
I like this apple cider vinegar cleanse drink best served over ice, though you could also heat it and drink it as a tea. Here’s another Spiced Warm Apple Cider Vinegar tea to try.
