Hummus Crostini Ingredients

Ingredients for hummus crostini come out of a Vons bag in a kitchen.

Tribe® Garlic and Classic Hummus creates a creamy base for crostini toppings. You can get creative with your crostini toppings or use my favorite Mediterranean flavors shown here. Be sure to use a variety of colors, textures, and flavors. My favorite toppings for hummus crostini include olives, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, and herbs.

I found all of these fresh ingredients at my closest neighborhood grocery store, Vons. You can find Tribe® hummus in the refrigerated section along with a wide variety of other dips. Vons also has a mobile app where you can find coupons.

Although I’ve shared a Classic Hummus recipe made from scratch in the past, grabbing a tub from the grocery store is more realistic most of the time. Luckily Tribe hummus tastes fresh and delicious, savory and sweet, and is made with no artificial preservatives and no-GMO ingredients. It would also be fantastic with our Homemade Falafel, Falafel Wraps, or in a pita with Balela.

How to Make Crostini

A baguette is sliced into rounds and sits on a cutting board with two tubs of Tribe hummus and a bowl of olives and tomatoes.

Though you can buy pre-made crostini toasts, I recommend using a French baguette and slicing it into about 1/2″ rounds. To toast your crostini, you can arrange on a baking sheet and toast in the oven until golden, or toast on a grill or grill pan.

I like to grill the crostini bread to create grill marks and a little more flavor. Simply coat a grill pan over high heat with cooking spray or brush with a little olive oil, then cook for a minute or two on each side, until grill marks appear.

While toasting the bread, you can get started prepping the toppings, and if you’re making a charcuterie style DIY crostini board, start assembling it.

Crostini Charcuterie Board

A beautiful charcuterie board topped with vegan ingredients like grilled crostini bread, hummus, peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, avocado, and arugula.

One of my favorite things to make is a grazing board or charcuterie platter. They are fun to assemble and enjoy. Some favorites from the past include this Halloween Snack Tray, this grazing board with Fresh Spring Rolls and Peanut Sauce, and this Bagel and Vegan Cream Cheese brunch board.

Though you could assemble the crostini yourself, I like this DIY version too. Especially when serving kids who may have strong preferences.
