Cherry Oat Scone Mix {Homemade Gift with Printable Labels}
These tasty cherry oatmeal scones can be made into jar mixes and given as homemade gifts!
It seems like there are so many friends/teachers/hostesses to bring gifts to around the holidays. I love to give and receive gifts that are homemade. This year I did something really simple, delicious, and much less sinful than fudge or cookies. The dry ingredients for my favorite oat scone recipe conveniently fit perfectly into a quart sized jar. You know how I love my mason jars – remember these jute wrapped jars? Or these s’mores in jars? Or these mini pies in jars? You get the idea.
You could also include a little jar of jam or lemon curd with your jar of scone mix. What a cute breakfast basket you could make!
Jars are turned into darling packaging by sticking these labels on and wrapping the tops with a piece of ribbon. I printed labels on card stock and used a glue gun to stick them on the jars. Shimmering stickers on the top from Martha Stewart Crafts.

What an awesome idea! I am definitely going to do this! Who wouldn't like getting something like this for Christmas!
BTW, where did you get your stickers from? Michaels?
I am making this asap, but not for gifts, I want to store it in my fridge so I can whip these up anytime.
These are so yummy!! For friends needing to sub out eggs, one lunch pack of unsweetened applesauce worked really well for me. Also heavy whipping cream is always a good sub for milk in a scone Imo. 😉

I've seen these all over the place for cookies, but I am really loving the scone mix idea! Many of my friends are trying to lose weight, so I don't like giving them anything that will push them off course. Scones aren't so bad though, so I may give it a try. Thanks for sharing!

This makes such a wonderful gift! I'd love to make these next year – thanks for the fabulous idea!
thank you for this — made two dozen jars and just made the scones myself tonight. so nice of you to share. Realized bake temp and yield was left off of affixed instructions. I'm sure you know that already, but wanted to point it out to others.
I just made these and they were delicious. I got 8 scones and next time will probably double the recipe. I added chocolate chips to half of the batch for a little extra fun. Thanks for the great recipe!
I made these for friends and several have begged me for my “secret” recipe! These are winners! Thanks so much!
such a delicious gift idea. every one will like this gift.

I am definitely making these for Christmas gifts this year. Such a cute idea…and easy to assemble! The only thing I noticed is that on the printables, it doesn't say what to set the oven at. :-/
Sorry about that – that's what happens when you're working with a 1.5 year old on your lap 😉
It's 425 degrees.
